Mineral Basics Review and Giveaway

Retail Site

In the last year I have started using primarily mineral makeup. I love the beautiful colors, the ease of putting the makeup on and the versatility of the mineral makeup. So, I was thrilled to discover Mineral Basics.

ABOUT MINERAL BASICS:

"Beginnings:
Mineral Basics began in 2004 as a means to provide all natural cosmetics to people with all skin types and tones across the globe. I personally had dealt with self-esteem-deflating skin issues for most of my life: terrible acne, inflamed skin, oiliness AND dryness, flaky skin, etc. I happily discovered mineral makeup and began manufacturing my own brand. I simply could not find the exact formula I wanted in a foundation, so I had to make my own.
From our beginnings on eBay, we then quickly had our retail site built and expanded into wholesale sales soon thereafter. I love the thought that others are being helped like me… that we no longer have to suffer with awful skin. We can feel lovely and confident, and know that with our skin looking fabulous, we have one less thing to worry about in life! I also enjoy helping others make a living through our wholesale program.

Today:
I fill my days with answering emails, updating products on the website, redesigning the site occasionally, processing orders, creating new products, etc. My favorite thing of all is to create new products. I absolutely love creating!
Each day we make it our mission to provide high-quality, all-natural, unique cosmetics and related items in a timely, friendly manner to uplift and bring joy and confidence to our customers.
I personally adore all things natural and incorporate that into our business.

Future:
The joy and fulfillment of uplifting others is an on-going goal and will surely carry into the future. We are excited you’ve decided to try our products and I pray they give you as much self-esteem and pure delight as they have me and others who currently enjoy our line. I pray each day you receive compliments on your beautiful skin as you wear our mineral makeup and all-natural skin care.
Enjoy your shopping!"

MY THOUGHTS:

First of all, I hope that you took the time to read the above "About" section. I love reading about how companies were founded. It is nice to know that the owner Chandi is a normal person with issues just like the issues we have. She couldn't find a solution, so she made her own. In my book that is amazing and commendable. Now, on to the makeup.

I was able to choose 15 different samples from Mineral Basics. This was great because it allowed me to try so many wonderful colors as well as different types of makeup. I choose mostly eyeshadow (because eyeshadow is my "must have"). Here are the choices I made:

*Horizon
*Blue-to-Gold
*Forest
*Mystical
*Water-Myth
*Elven-Wood
*Slate
*Emerald Fire
*Raisin
*Grapecicle
*Eggshell
*Angel Eyes
*Pearl
*Medium Olive Foundation
*Contour

Wow! Talk about a plethora of goodies! The samples come in small plastic zipped baggies. The amount you receive varies slightly by type of product. For example, you receive a little more with a foundation sample and a little less if it is part of their specialty "Enchanted Fantasy Makeup" line. Most of the bags contain enough for a couple of applications for me. It depends on how much you use and where you use it. All 15 bags were then placed in a beautiful draw string bag to hold them.

I loved all the samples I received! My favorite though was the Blue-to-Gold. It is a beautiful blue color that shimmers in gold, purple and turquoise hues. This color is one that you really have to try to appreciate it. Here are some various pictures of it. The first picture is the Mineral Basics picture. The other pictures are Blue-to-Gold on me.

I love the way it shimmers! The gold in it is truly glamorous. The Blue-to-Gold only required a little bit of makeup for this look. I have since used the "sample bag" again and I still have some left.

My other favorites include Emerald Fire, Mystical, Elven-Wood and the Angel Eyes Illuminating Concealer. The only sample I wasn't really fond of was the Medium Olive Foundation and that is because it is the wrong shade for my skin. I have always been a bad judge on picking out foundation. However, I was able to blend it with some other foundation I have for a great color.

I love that Mineral Basics sells samples. It makes it easy to try lots of colors without wasting money. This way you can see what you like and buy more accordingly. Want to try some Mineral Basics samples for yourself? Go to their Retail Site to buy some or try to win some now!
