Corel Paint It! is super easy to use and a lot of fun. The above picture (taken from Corel's website) demonstrates what the dashboard looks like. You basically pick the picture you want to use and click on the pictures to the right to convert it into a drawing, watercolor, etc. and then watch the program work it's magic. It is really fun to watch because it starts with just a few pencil marks or paint strokes and then proceeds to add more until your painting is complete. So, what type of paintings or drawings can you do? Oil, Impressionist, Modern, Illustration, Watercolor, Sketch, Detailed Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Pencil Drawing, Pen and Ink and Pastel.
Once your painting is done, you can save it. Or, you can play with it. There are several brushes that you can use to adjust the painting to make it just the way you want it. You can even restore certain parts of the painting to highlight certain aspects. For example, in a few of the paintings I did of my dog, I restored his eyes. This places emphasis on them and makes the painting take on a new life. The brushes that you can use are the pencil, felt pen, sponge, airbrush, spray paint, smudge, furry brush, fire brush, fairy dust, neon pen, leaf brush, distortion brush, pattern pen, wave brush and dissolver brush. As you can see, there are a lot of possibilities. Here are some of the paintings/drawings I did:
For this drawing I restored Tequila's face and rawhide for emphasis:
I used one of the drawing tools to write Tequila's name on this painting:
This is a partial sketched Colored pencil drawing of Jared Leto:
The finished drawing:
The same picture as a picture drawing:
Awesome, right? These are just a few of the things that you can do. I can't wait to try it on a beach picture.
