Calabasas Candy Company Review and Giveaway

Calabasas Candy Company is a new artisan confectioner with delicious and exciting candies. They have a lot of unique candies that I have not seen anywhere else. Included in these are several lavender treats such as Lavender Honey Truffles, Lavender Marshmallows and Lavender Nougat. They also have the best looking homemade marshmallows I have seen!

The first thing I noticed when I received this candy was that it came in cute packaging. The candy arrived in plastic bags with ribbons. I should have taken a picture, but I couldn't wait to try them, so I opened them before I could take a picture. I also loved that they include a little sample with every order. The samples vary, but I received a cinnamon sugar marshmallow. It was amazing! Next time I am ordering some of those too. I was lucky enough to try several of their creations.

First, I tried the Fleur de Sel Chocolate Caramel (pictured above). The Calabases website describes these as "the same deep dark organic Peruvian chocolate caramel we offer, but with a little sprinkle of fleur de sel. Can you imagine dark rich chocolate with a little bite!". These were my favorite of the three yummy candies I tried. The caramel is the softest and most delicious caramel I have ever tried. It is so soft that it doesn't really even stick in your teeth like other cheap caramels do. The fluer de sel adds a really nice slight sweet crunch to the caramel. If you are a caramel fan, you have to try these!

I also received Madagascar Vanilla Marshmallows. These yummy marshmallows are described on the Calabasas website: "Pure Madagascar vanilla has been infused in these creamy marshmallows! They are dense, yet light and fluffy, just the way you like them. I put them in my coffee, and it's the best cup I've ever had! Try it, you'll love it!" These marshmallows taste similar to normal marshmallows, only way better. They are big, fluffy and melt in your mouth. I'm not a big coffee drinker, so I did not try them in coffee. I did however try them in hot cocoa and it was delicious! These would also be delicious in Smores.

I also tried the Lavender Nougats. According to the website: "This is our own new and exclusive candy creation made especially for all you lavender lovers! We have created a light chewy nougat infused with natural lavender and color. Fresh almonds are then mixed into this dense mallow goodness." These are definitely a unique candy. I personally loved them, but they may not be for everyone (Hubby didn't like them). The Lavender nougat is delicious and since I am a nougat lover, I found myself eating the almonds off first and then eating the nougat. I am the type of person that always tries to isolate the nougat in every candy bar. However, the almonds did add a nice crunch and a lot of flavor to the Lavender Nougat. If you are looking for a new, different candy...these are for you.

So, if you are wanting to try a new, innovative candy, or even if you are trying to find a better version of your current favorite: check out Calabasas Candy Company!

One lucky winner will receive the Checkerboard Caramel Sampler: "Caramel lovers, this is it!
