Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Magic Review

ABOUT Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Magic:

“Share the magic and joy of Christmas with the whole family. You’ll love these 101 heartwarming, inspirational, and fun stories of Christmas miracles, family reunions, charity, the wonder of children, the joy of giving, and family and religious traditions. And lots of stories about Santa too, all appropriate for children!”

MY THOUGHTS:

I Love Christmas! Who doesn’t? I particularly love reading stories about strangers helping strangers on Christmas. Whether it is a mall Santa giving free pictures and toys to a young single Mother in need, or Christmas Carolers cheering up a lonely old man. Yes, these are both stories that are in this heartfelt edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul. Christmas Magic is one of my favorite Chicken Soup for the Souls. This book helped to remind me of the true spirit of Christmas during a very tight Holiday season.

I also loved that all of the chapters in this book are Christmas Carols:

1. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
2. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
3. Away in a Manger
4. Deck the Halls
5. There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays
6. Joy to the World
7. Holly Jolly Christmas
8. O’ Christmas Tree
9. All I Want for Christmas
10. Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
11. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I didn’t really have a favorite section in this edition. My favorite stories are spread throughout the book. I was very pleased to see that this version also contained witty comics. In addition to the comics, there are great quotes at the beginning of each story (I wonder how long the Chicken Soup for the Soul authors spending looking for quotes! The quotes are always perfect for the stories and I have been known to copy a few of them down).  I also want to mention that these books are well edited. Sometimes when you buy a collaboration book, the stories have incorrect spelling and awful grammar. The Chicken Soup for the Soul books are all great flowing with few (if any) errors or typos.

Anyways, this would be a great Christmas gift. It would be particularly great for someone who is really into Christmas or someone that is a scrooge and needs to be reminded what Christmas is really about. Just make sure you give it to them early so they can enjoy it throughout December!
