Miche May Shells Review

Do you remember the review and giveaway I had for Miche (if not, read it HERE)? Miche is an amazing bag company that does home parties and has some retail locations. Miche bags are unlike anything you have ever seen before. They have a base bag in one of three sizes: big, classic or mini. Then, they have lots of different “shells” that you can choose from to change the exterior look of your bag. Miche recently sent me two of their newest Big Bag shells: Savannah and Abagail. These shells are new as of May and they are really neat and unique.

Savannah is an orange shell. I have to admit that orange is not really “me”. I typically favor colors that are softer or more conservative (I have a lot of black or brown purses). However, I LOVE Savannah! It has definitely grown on me. After using this shell, I don’t know if I will ever be able to go back to a plain black purse again (I don’t think I would want to!). I get a ton of compliments on the Savannah shell, particularly about the color. What I love most about this shell is actually the design itself. The fabric is cinched together in 3 spots on the side:

There is also a diagonal stitching on the front of the shell that adds a lot to the look. These simple features make this shell look really unique. Savannah also has an outer pocket on the backside that is big enough for a phone, MP3 player and maybe even an e-reader.

Abagail is a crisp white with four horizontal stripes in pink, light brown, darker brown and a deep reddish brown. This design is really classy looking. It would be great for work, shopping and even semi-formal events (I think the mini Miche bag works best for formal). I really love the clean look of Abagail. I am really paranoid about getting it dirty though. I am not easy on my purses (even though I try!). Abagail also has an outer back flap pocket that runs the width of the shell. You could fit just about anything in this pocket. I think it would be best not to put small or valuable items in the pocket since it would be easy for them to fall out and get lost.

Both of these shells are really amazing and very different from what I am used to. I believe that Miche has helped me to “break out of my shell” (pardon the pun/ cliché) and think differently about fashion and purses. Thanks Miche! In case you are wondering, I still love my Miche Big bag as well and I have used nothing but Miche (with the exception of a wedding where I used a smaller purse) since I received my Miche Big Bag. My current shell is Savannah.

Make sure you like Miche on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest news and shells (they post the new shells in albums on their page). You can also follow them on twitter.

I LOVE Miche Bags and I'm waiting until my numbers get big enough that I can review for them. :-)
