Battle of the Sample Boxes: Ipsy Vs. Sample Society {November}

November was a great month for my subscription boxes. Is it just me, or do they seem to be better around the Holidays? I think companies are feeling more generous.  Here is what I received:
*$10 a month
*It was started by Michelle Phan (who is a Youtube Beauty Guru)
*Every month you receive a make-up bag with deluxe samples and full sized products
My November Ipsy bag:

*TRESemme TRES Two Spray Hair spray ($5.49 for 11oz, 1.5oz = $0.75)
*Pixi Subtly Suntouched Beauty Bronzer (FULL SIZED, if purchased it comes with a Kabuki brush for $18. We did not receive the brush, so I am going to say $12)
*.em pillow plush cushiony lip balm in sorbet (FULL SIZED $15)
*Nailtini nail lacquer in Champagne (FULL SIZED $13)
*be a bombshell lip crayon in hot damn (FULL SIZED $14)
*Starlooks Gem Pencil in Topaz (FULL SIZED $14)
*Gold makeup bag
*Total before makeup bag: $68.75!
Initial Thoughts: Love it! Almost everything is FULL SIZED! Every product in the bag other than the hair spray is also worth more than I paid for the entire bag. These are also products that I love and use. The only product I could take or leave is the hair spray, but I will still try it. I really love the .em, Nailtini, be a bombshell and Starlooks products. The Pixi seems like more of a blush than a bronzer because it is a lighter color. It is also extremely shimmery, so it would probably work as a highlighter. Either way, I can still use it.

Sample Society (Please use code TFL99 if you sign up)
*$15 a month
*Creation of Allure and Beauty Bar
*5 deluxe-sized samples
*$15 gift code to redeem on a $50 purchase - when any product from the brands you've sampled is included in your order.
*Expert beauty advice to accompany your samples from the editors of Allure
My November box:

*Borghese Splendore Brightening Makeup (FULL SIZE (1oz) $29.50)
*Murad Pore Minimizer ($49.50 for 1.7oz, 0.33oz= $9.61)
*Jane Iredale LipDrink (unknown TINY size, unknown value, full sized is $12, estimated $3)
*Illume Balsam & Cedar Tin ($36 for 14.1oz, 1oz= $2.55)
*Annick Goutal Eau d' Hadrien Eau de Toilette ($92 for 1.7oz, 0.06oz = $3.24)
*Total: $47.90
Initial Thoughts: I was extremely underwhelmed by this box. Everything just seems so tiny. I would not have guessed that the Borghese was full sized if I hadn't looked it up online. Even so, it is in a different container than what they sell online which is odd. I think I will like the product, but I will use it as a highlighter. It is too shimmery to put all over my oily face. I'm excited to try the Murad. The perfume smells really good. However, it is small and way too expensive to ever think about buying. The candle smells really good! I wish it was bigger than 1oz. I don't really even want to talk about the Jane Iredale Lip Drink. This is the THIRD time I have received one of these TINY Jane Iredale lip products. It has me seriously thinking about leaving Sample Society.
This month's winner: Ipsy. It wasn't even a question this month. Sample Society disappointed again and Ipsy blew it away with five full sized products! Sample Society better step it up or they will be cancelled.
Do you get sample boxes? What did you get?
