Herbal Essences Naked Volume Kit Review

Remember when I shared with you the new Herbal Essences Naked Volume kit that is available online at Walmart? Well, I have been using this kit for about 2 weeks now and I am ready to share my review with you.

The Herbal Essences Naked Volume Kit consists of four products:

Naked Volume Shampoo & Conditioner
- Restores hair’s natural body.
- Made with zero heavy residues, dyes, and parabens.
- Light weight shampoo provides a clean luscious bounce.
- Conditioner keeps hair detangled, nourished, and maintains full volume.

Naked Volume Dry Shampoo
- Great for days when you don’t have time to wash your hair.
- Refreshes your look for lightweight, clean hair — even on days when you don’t wash.
- The natural tapioca formula absorbs excess oil and transforms lifeless, oily hair into fresh hair.
- Delights senses with the crisp essence of citrus and mint.
- How to use: Gently spray on and work into roots, brush out as desired.

Naked Volumizing Souffle
- Weightless, volumizing styler gives you a lift for fullness that lasts.
- Delights the senses with a boost of grapefruit and mint.
- How to use: Gently work mousse through wet hair for volume.

I have a confession: I already new that I would like this set. I have been a huge fan of Herbal Essences for as long as I can remember. They are a great brand that always smell amazing. When this kit first arrived I was a little worried about the scent. White Grapefruit and Mint is not really something that appeals to me. I am not a fan of the taste or smell of grapefruit. However, I have yet to smell a Herbal Essences product that I did not like. I used these products the day they came (I may or may not have been stalking the mailman waiting for this particular package) and I was pleasantly surprised. The "White Grapefruit Mint" scent is amazing. It does not smell like either grapefruit or mint to me, but it does smell really good. It has a slightly sweet fruity smell. I detect no hint of mint at all. For me, this is a good thing.

Before I get into the review, I am going to tell you about my hair. I have straight, thick hair that is mostly hassle free. I am lucky because I literally just wash and condition my hair, brush it and walk out the door on most days. I don't use a lot of products and I really only NEED shampoo and conditioner (it tangles badly). My hair is normal to oily. While I have thick hair, it looks thin and I can always use more volume.

The product I was most excited for is the dry shampoo. I have been a fan of dry shampoo for a few years now. It is great on days where you don't have the time or energy to shower, but you have to do something with your hair. My hair gets super oily if I don't wash it daily and dry shampoo is the only thing that helps to tame the oil slick until I can shower. I'm so excited that Herbal Essences is now making dry shampoo!

So, how did it hold up? Well, it came in handy when I was sick with the flu over the Holidays. I used it when I was too drained to get a shower, but felt gross. It helped to make my hair manageable, less oily and even added some volume. Success! I would recommend using it sparingly. I have found that I need less with the Herbal Essence version than the brand I was previously using.

The shampoo and conditioner are fantastic. I love that they don't have any parabens, dyes or residues. The shampoo makes my hair feel clean and stripped of any dirt, oil and elements in a matter of seconds. The conditioner detangles my hair and makes it feel soft and silky. After using both products my hair feels clean, smells good and seems slightly more voluminous.

The product that really surprised me was the Volumizing Souffle. Like I said, I don't really use extra hair products often. I wasn't sure this product was going to do anything for me. I had never heard of a souffle hair product before and figured it was like a mousse. The last time I used a mousse it left my hair sticky, crunchy and gross...yes it was about a decade or so ago. Anyways, I tried this souffle after the shower one day for review purposes (not because I really wanted to) and I fell in love with it. It comes out as a foam and you apply it to wet hair. It does not make your hair crunchy or sticky. It makes your hair have so much more volume and it makes the Herbal Essences scent linger for much longer. I think I am going to have to add this to my every day routine. It is the one product out of the four that seems to drastically increase volume for me.

I really loved the entire Herbal Essences Naked Volume Kit. These are all four products I will buy and use again after they are out. Don't need volume? Herbal Essences will also be coming out with other products in the Naked line including Shine and Moisture. Make sure you try them! For now you can buy the Naked Volume kit at Walmart online: http://www.walmart.com/ip/33006917
