Thrifty and Frugal Living: Dear Rioters,

Dear Rioters,

I am going to get serious for a minute here because what I have witnessed on Television in the last 24 hours is deplorable. I was going to title this "Dear Baltimore", but it isn't just Baltimore. St. Louis. Los Angeles. Even my home town of Cincinnati has had riots.

Riots do not make sense to me.

Why?

I get that you are angry. I understand that you want someone to pay.

What I do not understand is why you think harming innocent people, destroying property, burning down your own town and terrifying your fellow citizens will solve anything.

VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER.

On top of that, blaming all police officers for the poor actions of a few is just ignorant. You are being a hypocrite by stereotyping an individual based on a group that they belong in.

If John walks into McDonald's and he is shoved by an employee, does that make it okay for him to go to come back to that McDonald's and shoot a different employee? No. To go into a different McDonald's and shoot a different employee? No. As a matter of fact, it is not okay for him to shoot anyone.

Yes, there are some bad Police Officers out there. They need to be brought to justice...but not like this. There are also a lot of amazing Police Officers out there that would give their life for you. Why do you want to harm them?

Please remember that they are doing their job. Would you like to be attacked for doing your job just because someone else that works there did something wrong?

We live in the United States of America. We have a justice system that may be flawed, but it allows us our freedom. If you really want justice, retribution or revenge, get involved in the justice system and the court case. Collect signatures. Start a foundation. That will be much more effective than causing car crashes, shouting, breaking into buildings, starting fires, etc.

More than likely, the person who's name you are doing this in would not want this.

What do you hope to gain?

Can you name a riot in history that actually accomplished anything? I don't know of any.

Please STOP.

I totally agree with what you've printed.

I read that a CVS was burned to the ground, thus endangering lives. Diabetics depend on neighborhood drug stores. Looters and rioters don't care about the overall welfare of their city; they're just out to destroy.
